Uroflowmetry is a diagnostic test used to measure the flow of urine during urination. The speed of urine flow is measured electronically.
Uroflowmetry is best done when you have a full bladder. Ideally, you should refrain from urinating for several hours before the appointment and drink plenty of liquids to ensure you have enough urine for the test. Or you may drink water provided in the clinic and get ready for the test. The test involves normal urination, and you will not experience any discomfort. You will urinate in a urinal fitted with a machine that has a measuring device. You will be asked to begin urinating after the machine has started. When you finish, the machine will make a report.
